V-Teamwork Alumni

Meet some of our Previous V-Teamwork Students and hear what they have to say about the course.

We’re here to empower leaders and teams to reach their full potential. The development of technology that makes us better connected is exciting and inspiring. But as long as people lack the skills and dispositions for great collaboration, they will fall short of the results they are capable of. Our mission is to open the door to unprecedented levels of team achievement for all organisations.

Mission Control for Earth (MCE) serves as a north star coalescing action around managing our planet better. A philanthropically funded project, MCE seeks to understand how to best support informed, interactive decision-making using Earth system data at local and regional scales and over seasonal time frames.

Jason Kessler | Project Director | Misson Control Earth

About Jason:  I design, lead and facilitate innovative large-scale science and community-based projects and programs. I work across many boundaries: geographical, organizational, disciplinary.

Recent examples are NASA’s Asteroid Grand Challenge which used a public-private partnership, citizen science, and crowdsourcing to accelerate NASA’s hunt for hazardous asteroids (before they find us). In another recent program, we worked with Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade InnovationXchange and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID),  to source support, and scale innovations globally to improve the quantity and quality of food worldwide to address malnutrition and health challenges.

Responsible for providing technical training and development to over 3000 software engineers who work on developing and deploying Autodesk’s class-leading products. My responsibility also covers other disciplines including, among others, UX and localization. While our engineers need cutting-edge technical skills, they also benefit from honing their collaboration, teaming and leadership skills, so we recognize the value of programs that develop these.

As a pediatric intensive care specialist, I’d been promoted to Deputy Director of the Paediatric Intensive Care unit with no prior leadership experience. I was a highly skilled doctor, but I didn’t know how to manage my team, collaborate effectively, or communicate in a way that was clear and got people on-side.
